The next AFSME Retirees Subchapter 161 Membership Meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 18 at Sweet Basil Cafe, 5203 Old Orchard Road, Skokie, IL 60077. The meeting will begin at noon. Attendees may arrive as early as 11:30 and should order food before the meeting begins (click here to view Sweet Basil Cafe menu). Zoom access will be available for members unable to attend in person (click here for more information on Zoom). Members attending in person will be eligible for a drawing for free lunch.

Guest Speakers Cathleen Jensen  and Bill Bianchi from the Illinois Single Payer Coalition will be speaking about the movement for Universal Single Payer Health Care.  

Guest speakers Chris Shuttleworth and Fran Tobin from the Alliance for Community Services will give updates on Chicago City College Campaign for an  elected Board of Trustees and an Alliance virtual fundraiser.
