The next AFSCME Retirees Subchapter 161 Membership Meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 19. The meeting will be open to all AFSCME Illinois Retiree Chapter 31 members in the area and their spouses. The meeting will occur at Sweet Basil Cafe, 5203 Old Orchard Road, Skokie, IL 60077. The meeting will begin at noon. Attendees may arrive as early as 11:30 and should order food before the meeting begins (click here to view Sweet Basil Cafe menu). Members who attend will be eligible for a drawing for a complimentary lunch. There will be no Zoom for this meeting,

The meeting will include an election to fill one Trusteeship position for a three-year term. An election slate will be prepared by the Election Chairman and announced at the meeting. Other nominations for the position may be made by email to afscmeretirees161@gmail.com, by leaving a phone message on our Voice Mail (224-366-7339), or at the meeting.

The meeting will be visited by Maria Britton-Sipe, retiree coordinator for AFSCME Illinois Retiree Chapter 31.  She will be discussing the status of pensions, and State/Federal legislative issues.
