AFSCME Retirees Subchapter 161 will sponsor a picnic for all members, their families, and selected guests on Tuesday, September 3 (the day after Labor Day). The picnic will take place at Indian Boundary Park, 2500 W. Lunt Avenue (just west of Western Avenue), from 11:30 to 3:00. Food and drinks will be provided. Seating will be available but attendees are encouraged to bring additional folding chairs. They may also bring music on a flash drive or bluetooth device.

In accordance with our constitution, the election of Subchapter officers is scheduled for the Members Meeting in April, this year on April 17. Offices to be filled for two year terms include President, Vice-President, Secretary-Treasurer, Recording Secretary, and three members of the Executive Board. In addition, one Trustee position for three years will be filled. An election slate will be prepared by the Election Chairman, Karl-Heinz Gabbey, and announced at the meeting.
