Report of Election results:
Voting for delegates was terminated as announced at the meeting at 5 PM on Thursday, August 19 by Election Chair John Metz. Fourteen ballots were distributed by email to attendees at the meeting and one was reported by phone. Eleven completed ballots were returned and two were discarded when they arrived after the deadline.

Nominations for Delegates to the Eighteenth Biennial Chapter 31 Convention will take place at the AFSCME Retiree Subchapter 161 Membership Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, August 18, at noon on Zoom. Subchapter 161 is allowed to nominate and elect up to 8 Delegates to attend the Convention. Delegates must be members in good standing as of June 2021. The election of all Chapter 31 officers, executive board members and trustees will be held at the Convention.
The election will be supervised by the presiding officer at the Zoom meeting. Nominations will be taken from the floor. If the number of nominees is 8 or less the nominees will be declared elected by acclimation. If there are more than 8 nominees, a mail-in secret ballot will be supervised by our staff representative in Chapter 31.
The Convention will begin at 9 AM, Wednesday, October 13, at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Springfield. Due to pandemic restrictions, all Delegates must wear masks and practice social distancing in the hotel and at the Convention. Non-Delegate guests will not be allowed at the Convention. Delegates will be reimbursed for travel expenses.
